Started this list in early December and finally got it posted on my new blog. I've finished four items on the list already, which is a nice start to the new year.
1. Visit the Pennsylvania Academy of Find Arts
I discovered this interesting museum a few years ago when my then-employer had an awards banquet there. The PAFA is both an art academy and a museum of American art. A few weeks ago I took a friend there for her birthday and we had a great time. It's down on Broad Street in the heart of the city, about a block or two from City Hall, and is really one of Philadelphia's treasures.
2. Purchase new pair of black boots
I tossed my previous pair of high boots over the summer as they were starting to look bad. I tend to buy inexpensive wide-calf boots from Torrid, so was actually pretty happy I got two seasons out of them. The new boots are actually very comfortable, although I wish they were just a little shorter. When you're 5'2" and need wide-calf boots, you deal.
3. Donate the clothes I don't wear
I took a few garbage bags of clothes with me when I visited my family at Thanksgiving. I was happy to see my mom and my sister-in-law both find quite a few items they liked, and I told my mom she and my dad could sell the rest on Ebay and keep the profit. Some of the stuff was hardly worn, but they were either too small, too large, or I just didn't like the way they looked on me.
4. Buy at least one new TV
OK, so this is actually something Tim did, but either way it ended up with us having one new TV. I hold on to appliances until they just don't work, so our TVs are pretty old. He found a great Christmas deal at KMart for a 32" HDTV and it's now sitting in our livingroom. I know he wants a smaller one for the bedroom, so maybe I'll keep an eye out for a deal on a small HDTV to replace the one back there.
